A million thoughts will race through your mind moments after you
place that beautiful ring on your finger. What do we do now? Where should we
have the wedding? When should we have the wedding? Once you have attempted to
sort those thoughts or simply give up, you encounter the overwhelming amount of
questions from others.
You went from being excited, straight to hiding from everyone and
searching for answers. You sit there plotting and narrowing down your options
in hope to please others with answers to their questions. Although I grew up
with 2 sisters and talking about our future weddings, it isn't the same as when
it is about to happen.
It is almost as if you are working on this massive puzzle, the
puzzle of life. Endless attempts to put all the pieces together and make
them fit seamlessly to unveil a beautiful masterpiece. There is this image of a
"Perfect Wedding" that society has painted in our heads, that we must
have that Cinderella Ball Gown or White Horse and Carriage. Pressured to have
an extravagant wedding to live up to expectations or others.
Planning for a wedding is extremely stressful for the bride-to-be
however it is also exciting to know that you will get to spend the rest of your
life with the person that you love. For some you may already live together
however I have lived with my parents all my life as well as lived in the same
house. The stress levels begin to get higher as you try to juggle working,
studying, wedding and living arrangements.
There is always the option of getting a wedding planner but to be
honest is it really worth hiring someone to do everything for you. I know this
may sound absurd but I think the only person who can plan my wedding would be
me.
